THE FINCA

Finca Barbosa, or Origen Cacao, is a beautiful country home (finca) located just outside the city of Barbosa, about a 1 hour drive outside of Medellin. Finca Barbosa, is a dream location for my Heal Your Life® Mindset Shift Retreats. Set on 11 acres, the house itself has 4 rooms and 3 bathrooms, easily housing 10-12 people. The bedrooms and bathrooms are shared, dormitory style, making it easier to connect with the other retreat participants over the course of our 2-day Heal Your Life® workshop. Also-yes, this is important for many-->there is HOT WATER!

 

The home has indoor and outdoor seating to relax and to dine, a large, beautiful swimming pool for those hot Barbosa afternoons and evenings as well. BUT...DID I MENTION? There is also a stream that runs through the property, a short hike down the hill, with multiple pools to wade in and rocks to sunbathe/relax/meditate on. There is an abundance of nature (yes please!) as well as wildlife including the geese, chickens, cat, dog and birds that roam the property.

OUR HOST

The owner, Danielle, is a master in hosting retreats, and graciously cooks my retreat attendees a variety of vegetarian/vegan dishes. She also runs a (chocolate factory) Origen Cacao on her finca so we are privy to trying her chocolate bars (and other goods!) She not only produces chocolate bars with the local cacao from the area, but also rum, salad dressings, body scrubs and MORE! So, after some emotional work, if we need a little bit of chocolate, then so be it! Danielle is the host of hosts and knows how to treat her retreat groups well. We will surely be spoiled with attention, thought and detail throughout our time here at her finca. Danielle spent over 2 years searching for her dream finca, and she has finally found it, and we (my retreat atendees) are some of the lucky ones that will be able to enjoy the fruits of her labor of love here at this finca.
